In order to approximate a players offensive impact, an index was created to measure several common offensive statistics. The offensive index weighs points, assists and field goals made. Points are weighted at 70%, while assists are weighted at 20% and field goals made at 10% respectively. Based on the data from Lebron and Michael, several things are clear. A-Jordan is in a class of his own offensively. Jordan has five seasons over 25, while Lebron only had 1. B- Jordan's career average is helped considerably by a tear from age 23-26. During this time he set his career best and was never less than 25 on the index. C- This data seems to support that Lebron is not a score first player. As the index is weighted heavily towards points, his career assists numbers do not help him in this catagory.
